What a performance. My favorite so far. That was a Jimmie Rodgers original, thus the little yodel tribute at the end. Sometimes I think Emmylou is a little too laid back, (sorry people) but she didn't hold anything in reserve on this one.
This is brilliant, isn't it? I knew I had a find when I came across this one. Based on this performance, she should adopt the torch persona more often.
Check out Steve Forbert's version of "Years Ago" sometime. It's one of my favorite Jimmie Rodgers covers. Arlo Guthrie also does an excellent rendition of "Miss the Mississippi."
