Thank you so much for posting this - I LOVE Steve Earle, and what a beautiful, beautiful song. He was playing a gig quite near me here in Scotland this week - and I missed it!! can't believe I did that. Old age I'm afraid.
It happens to us all. And it's really happened to Steve, if you've seen him lately! BTW, he has a small recurring role in the HBO series Treme, as a busker.
We're in Ireland for a few weeks; I've wanted to get to Scotland ever since seeing Local Hero back in the 80s.
